As I sit here waiting for the words to come to me, about what to write about this couple and this wedding, I am finding myself speechless for the first time since I walked out the door on this day. I have literally done nothing but rave over how amazing this couple is, and how pleased I was with everything about this wedding for days now. Of course I thought to myself that this was going to be a very long-winded blog post and now I have rendered myself speechless, which is rare for me at anytime!
Simply Savvy's studio was located in the Old Vanderburgh County Courthouse for a couple of years. We had the pleasure of photographing that place every day, from top to bottom, so we were very acquainted with everything there--yet we had never seen it like this! The OCH is a beautiful building, but Samantha and Michael took it and made it into something even more magical than it ever has been before. With a little help from Just Your Style Event Rentals (who by the way is perhaps the nicest and most talented wedding vendor in Evansville, I am now convinced), they were able to transform the ballroom in the OCH from stunning to something so amazing that words could not even begin to do justice for. When I first met with this couple and they told me they were doing a Downton Abbey theme with some Star Wars mixed in, I could not visualize it. I just cannot get over how well executed the whole thing turned out to be!
The wedding was catered by Commonwealth Kitchen and Bar in Henderson, which just so happens to have the most amazing food that I have found in any small town (and I don't just say that because it's in my hometown). Not only is everything on their menu the best thing you have ever tasted, but their owner is probably the most down-to-earth, genuinely nice person you'll ever meet. It's hard to walk in his restaurants without feeling like family. We were blessed to have a menu that included their stellar Buffalo Mac and Cheese and Brussel Sprouts! Even the food details were the absolute best around!
The meal ended with cake, pies and mini cupcakes from Pacetre, which is the best cake in town! We fell in love with their sweet treats after spying them at various bridal shows over the years. I have been known to sneak by their shop on the West Side to indulge myself with cake balls a time or two!
I cannot even being to explain to you how perfect this day was in every single way. It was definitely the best of the best that Evansville has to offer (and the couple was seriously the best, too), and we were beyond honored to be included in the vendor list so that we could share this day with Samantha and Michael.
All of this food talk is making me hungry again, so I am going to leave you all with the visuals to go along with it. Kendra and I hope that you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed capturing them.
